Happy
April!!!!
I adore Spring, I do have a darker taste
but there is just something about
Pastels and Baby Animals that make me so happy!!
I am a girl after all.
Anyways in April you have the obvious commercial holiday
EASTER!
So to my point, Easter means Easter baskets.
For most families that means A pre-made basket like these
These baskets are all about $15.00 to $20.00!
I hate these.
They are great if you do not know the child you are buying them for, but very impersonal for a family member or a child you have grown to know well.
Not just that but they are very expensive for cheap product.
Normally a basket that is ugly, and easily broken.
For a filler it they tend to have an ugly construction paper like filler or that ever so messy annoying
Easter grass.
Not to mention Easter Grass is so deadly!! Cats love anything that moves. This stuff moves easily in the breeze, makes interesting sounds, and, for some cats, it is simply irresistible and must be eaten. Stringy things like Easter grass or tinsel at Christmas, pose a deadly threat if ingested, creating something called a Linear Foreign Body.
Then the pre-made baskets are filled with maybe 4-5 gifts and a few random candies.
Most of those gifts tend to fall apart after the first week or so.
All in all I can't stand these things.
So I am 22 and have no children myself but I have a few friends of the family with girls that I adore.
I was not able to do much last Easter for them. I got them a One Direction Sticker book and a couple of packs of stickers to go along with it.
Needless to say I am very happy I am very happy I can afford a cute Easter gift for everyone.
I refused to take the easy way out and buy a pre-made basket.
I am not done with my baskets just yet but I found these adorable little Easter pails at the Dollar Tree.
Instead of name tags I am usings the girls favorites colors.
At the moment I only have fillings for the youngest daughter.
Blue Headphones with Rhinestones, One Direction stickers for their sticker books from last year, a few pencils (always a great gift filler for school aged kids), My Little Pony Lip gloss, My little pony nail kit (with nail stickers because stick on nails hurt the poor thing) and a blue bunny egg with candy.
It was very inexpensive as a matter of fact I got the My Little Pony items on a 50% off sale.
The other 2 girls are older and have very different tastes, one will be filled with some peace sign things and the other will be some music themed.
I would like to add some EOS lip balm because they look like Easter eggs, and I maybe buy a $30.00 dollar iTunes pack and split it between the three girls. (I did the same thing for Christmas they were very excited.)
Instead of paper, or easter grass I will fill the pail up with assorted candies.
I would have spent the same amount on a Pre-Made basket, very impersonal, dangerous, and cheaply made.
Put together your own basket, in the long run it will mean a lot more.
I will try to post a picture of the finished baskets closer to Easter.
I was just to excited to share these cute baskets.
I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on Pre-Made Easter baskets, or even some cute ideas you have used for Easter gifts.
Lots of Love
